 | Sports Relief Mile for Charity |
24 hashers and hashers friends took part in the 'Run a mile for Charity' event, which started in Yenikoy and ended in the Tarabya British Gardens.
Baldrick's company generously sponsored each hasher for 20tl.
Many of the British Consulate runners were also sponsored, with some starting their 'mile' from Bebek!!
There were runners from many nations, the US marines turned out in force, the Consulate football team were there, and AdimAdim was also well represented. In total there were 64 runners, who paid 10tl eqch to take part. First through the gates was hasher Vacuum Cleaner, an impressive feat considering that he was still partying at 3 am the night before.
After the run Doormat and Plonker arranged a BBQ on the Tarabya lawns. The weather was kind to all and everyone had a great day out.
The money raised will be given to a local orphanage.

 | Misman meeting 12.8.09 |
plonker writes "Minutes for Misman meeting 12.8.09
Wineport Bežiktaž
Present
Doormat (GM)
Plonker (Honsec)
Mini the Moocher (Hashcash)
Happy Ending (Hareline)
Shutter Slut (AGM and General dogsbody)
Bag Lady (Haberdasher)
1. The minutes of the previous meeting were glanced through and agreed.
2. Run numbers are up to date. Mini would like a copy of the spreadsheet that Bottom Line set up.
3. Website was again discussed. Although we would like a complete revamp, the ongoing difficulty of a Webmaster who prefers the website as it is was pointed out. It was mentioned that the current Webmaster (Sigh Bore Sex) does a good job, and upsetting him was not on the whole a good idea. Sigh Bore Sex (who was not present) intends to add some units to the Hash Site; Mini the Moocher asked for a space for Hash Trashes, which could be shared with the space already promised for Misman minutes. Shutter Slut said he would like a notice board, but this was considered a waste of space, since most people rely on information being delivered to their email accounts and never log onto the website. It was pointed out to Shutter Slut that if he had something to say there was a place already on the website to submit this.
4. Photos were discussed. Plonker said that Goosehumper had added several more albums to the website, and would probably add more when he got around the fact that several batches of photos that Plonker had submitted were not in the format that he preferred. Mini the Moocher asked that if people preferred not to appear in the photo gallery, could their photos be deleted? This was not considered a problem, and temporary Hash Flash (Plonker) promised to be circumspect about what was uploaded to both her facebook site and the hash gallery.
5. Mugs were discussed. We still have several mugs of different run numbers, but it was decided that no one needed more than one mug, and that when the current stock ran out, it would not be replaced except for 50th runs and leavers mugs. Other options were discussed for celebrating major run totals, and research will be undertaken to find a suitable alternative. Engraved metal plaques that could be sewn onto clothing and moved to other items were discussed as an alternative to mugs. Half yards of ale glasses were ruled out as too fragile.
6. T shirts and fleeces were discussed. Happy Ending produced several examples of the sort of fleeces we would like, and Bag Lady acknowledged that it would probably be better to pay slightly more to get a more desirable design, but not to price the fleece out of reach. We also discussed the need for something like a waterproof jacket, but decided that a fully waterproof style would be too expensive. Shower proof was considered a good alternative. Bag Lady will do some research when pressure of work lets her. It was decided to ask Tit for Tat if she would like to assist the Haberdasher. We also decided that it would probably be easier to import embroidered patches with the hash logo from either Thailand or Indonesia, and Plonker promised to look into pricing on this.
7. Mini the Moocher said that Hash money had a fairly healthy balance, but was worried that we were being too ambitious with proposed expenditure. She was reassured that we would be careful, and that once we had a stock of haberdashery for sale, we would be able to recoup our money. We agreed that if we made too much profit we would have another party for hashers.
The GM proposed that we start a fund so that hashers could ask for money in case of special needs, which would be funded by hashers obtaining sponsors for events such as the marathon. It was pointed out that such a fund would be open to abuse, and a nightmare to administer. He then said that perhaps we should have a fund for such items as funeral flowers, or for flowers sent in cases of illness, but again this was deemed too difficult to maintain, since we hadn’t even managed to keep track of birthdays.
8. It was agreed that the Hash should become more social, and the third Friday or Saturday of the month was discussed as a permanent time, preferably to coincide with the full moon. It was decided that we would not allow tabs to be run up at hash parties, as this always led to dissension for those leaving last. If we go to a restaurant or bar, separate bills will have to be arranged, or pay as you drink.
9. The 25th Anniversary was discussed, and it was agreed that this would need a whole meeting to itself, which should be mid October (when Plonker and Doormat got back from their holidays). By this time the Misman committee should have a better idea of how we would like to celebrate the event.
10. The next misman meeting was agreed for 15th September, in Wineport.
